Sleep on it.
Two weeks in and we are still figuring out how to settle back in. We have already had one blow up due to lack of sleep and the saying, never go to sleep mad never rings more false to me. DH and I have found that rather than try to work it out right away, it is best to table it and get a good nights sleep first. We find that whatever seemed so awful the night before is much easier to resolve when we are well rested. Sometimes unfortunately, this means tabling it for a couple days if we are on a Q3 schedule and catching up on sleep just isn’t happening.
July’s schedule actually came out a week before July started, so that was a nice surprise. The schedule is much better than I expected it to be. My expect the worse and be pleasantly surprised practice seems to be working. He will be post call for the fourth and Tuesday is the only call day he has the whole first week of July. That’s AMAZING. It looks like his days are going to be long. He wakes up around 4am and on regular days gets home around 8:30.
Now I just wish I could have the vacation days schedule so I can book some very expensive flights home.
