    So sorry...
I've been through this more times than I would like to admit. I'm even more ashamed to admit that everytime Ive m/c I've bottled all my emotions inside and pretended everything was okey dokey. Please try not to do this. Take care of yourself first. don't keep your emotions inside, cry, mourn, chat with a friend, have a burial of sorts.
Do what you need to do to bring closure.

I'm so sorry. I lost a baby at 24 weeks and one at 7, so I know firsthand how intensely painful losing a baby can be. Take some time off, let yourself grieve for a little, in whatever way you need to. I'm so sorry.

        Willow -

I'm so sorry for your loss. And it IS a loss. I recently went through something very similar to what Julie did - sounds exactly like what she experienced actually. It's hard. Allow yourself to feel just as you do - that is what is right at the moment. And as Julie said, it will get easier - and then sometimes it's just hard again.

I went ahead and had the D&C the same day (in the office), just to begin moving on. If it were to happen again, I don't know that I would do that. I'd probably opt for more of a hospital setting or outpatient, so I could have support w/me and more "relief" (i.e. valium or the like) so I wasn't quite so "with it" during the procedure. It's not a pleasant experience - but as Sylvia inferred, I think allowing things to "pass" on their own is much worse.

Lean on those who support you and let them know what you need. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to deal with this. It's very real.

I am so sorry Willow. I have heard it is best to think of this time as a bereavement, just like any other. Be gentle to yourself.

Big hugs to you, and to all the women who've opened up and shared their loss in this thread. Isn't it amazing how common this is, and yet how little you hear about it.

Be good to yourself and allow your feelings to be wherever they need to.
