So we all know that swimming lessons are a mixed bag BUT SO WORTH the effort. Kids NEED this skill!
My DS (three in October) made it through 6 out of 8 lessons this summer before he had had enough. He learned a ton and got moved up to my daughters class -- for 3 and 4 year olds.
Today was the second "not going in Mom."
I negotiated a bit but wasn't going to push it.
While in the baby pool (goes up to three feet deep) he pursed his lips, folded his arms (with scuba mask on) and said he didn't want a lesson and he's "NOT WHISENING" to me!
Then...he went under water for about the count of 12 --- HE'S TWO!!!!
I knew he was okay because I saw the bubbles and watched his eyes. He STILL had his arms crossed under water.
What a character. He's nuts.
