Hi everyone. I'm just wondering if Brownies and Girlscouts are still as popular for little girls? The uniforms? The cookies? Brownie promise? Johnny Appleseed? : What about BoyScouts?

My daughter is just starting her third year of brownies, Kristen, and we love it. Our troop here includes the moms in everything. We all go to every meeting and while the girls have their 'meeting' part (we all trade off on doing the activities with the girls) we talk and plan, etc. It is really nice.
Now the badges are called "tryits" and the girls earn one at each meeting...which is a nice motivator for them. I definitely give scouting the thumbs ups.
My son is also starting his 3rd year of boyscouts. He loves it....I'm a little on the fence. Maybe I'm just less enthusiastic because it involves traditionally 'male' activities like shooting arrows and building birdhouses/cars though 8)
