  • my new friend -- a SAHD

So finding new friends you "click" with is hard when you move.

I have lifelong female friends but I have always found guys are much easier to get along with -- especially early on in a friendship.

I met a SAHD who is great with his kids, fun, and we hang out about three times a month. His wife is a doc so he gets the life a little and has only been in the area going on three years. His kids are about the same age as mine.

I'm remembering now why I like hanging out with guy friends! They rarely gossip, talk about weight gain, or criticize their spouses to others!

    What a nice surprise!

That's great - I've always had better men friends then women friends, why is that? New Year's eve last year I was the only girl in the basement watching ESPN and playing cards with the guys while all of the other girls were upstairs playing with scrapbooks.

That would have been me too Cheri!

When some friends came to visit me in the hospital after DS was born (DH was home with DD) I had baseball on and needed to see the next at bat....the wife just laughed outloud and said "only you!!!!" The husband looked at me like he had entered another universe.

I embrace my inner sports geek.

Yeh one of the guys asked me to marry him at that party last year - granted he was pretty drunk but we all got a pretty good laugh at it. 8) (Off topic - that is another issue with my MIL, I think I'm to much of a tom boy for her).
