So we're moving to this new place next week. I'm concerned about a couple of things. First there's the floors, which was addressed in the other thread here. Next there's paint. They're painting some of the place, and I'm concerned about lingering paint fumes. How long does it take for paint fumes to dissipate? I know this depends on the type of paint, but this would be typical wall paint.
Also, they're getting the carpets cleaned before we move in and I am concerned about any chemical solutions they may use in the carpet. After you get carpets cleaned (which we have never done), is there a lingering smell? Is it toxic to pets if they lick the carpet? Maybe we should specify they only steam clean but use no chemicals?
I'm concerned about moving into this place b/c of all these potential chemical exposures.
