Well we planted a garden, and it's growing stuff!!! So far the things we planted, and a few weeds. We planted 6 rows of corn, a big row of peas, a big row of beans, cantaloupe, watermelon, broccoli, pumpkin, variety of lettuces, carrots, and in 3 separate planters I have strawberries, 3 bell pepper plants, and cucumbers. I am so excited!!!
The kids are really loving it, as well. We are thinking we are going to plant some fruit trees as well. We have to talk to the nursery and figure out how to do it, as our soil is clay, which can cause the roots to ball up. For the garden we had a bunch of organic soil, manure, and gypsum brought in. My parents helped with that, and then my dad rototilled it for me.
If we can I want to plant 2 peach trees, 2 apple trees, and maybe 4 others. I know the peaches should do fine as friends in our neighborhood have a couple of dwarf peach trees.
Next year I want to plant grapes and raspberries.
Our yard is a blank canvas, so we are having a lot of fun with this.
