I loved this book.
It's an immigrant story - a young Irish woman who comes to Brooklyn after World War II. Plot-wise, there really isn't much more too it than that. It seems like nothing happens, but the whole thing is captivating, really lovingly told. After waiting several months on the library hold list, I finished it in just a few days - really unusual for this slow reader.
(Cheri, it's on that Newsweek list.)
