This is Deborah Copaken Kogan's autobiographical memoirs of her ascent as a war photojournalist. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it cover to cover with relish.
I feel compelled to warn any would-be readers that some of the reviews on Amazon.com criticized the author's sexual promiscuity, cultural insensitivity, and ultimate return to becoming a SAHM. I honestly think that these reviews were written by some clueless moron who hasn't had to deal with the difficult choices that women often face, in our culture and in foreign cultures. But hey, I'm too prtobalby too close to these issues to be objective.
Long story short: fascinating read with a refreshing female voice.
