Today I am sorting through benefits for next year for DH's job, calculating etc - then it hit me, I'm doing this for 2013?!?!? I can't believe its going to be 2013! We started dating in 1997, DH started med school in 1999, residency in 2004 and now its 2013!!!
Today I wonder how many times I'm going to say, "R we are having family photos tonight please don't give yourself a black eye!"Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.

I've already talked with my mom 4 times today. Love you, ma, but that's enough.
I've been watching helicopters and planes dropping water on the wildfire across the valley from us all morning (when not on the fucking phone with my mother), hoping no one is injured and that no more buildings are destroyed.
I have errands to run and the only thing I want to do is crawl back into bed and take a nap. This cold can fuck off already.
Today, I got out of having to go to the new doc retreat for DH's group. I detest that kind of shit with a crazy intensity. Thankfully, DD1 is required to attend the homecoming game on Friday. Yay for band geeks!

Today, K1 is still sick. He sounds awful with his stuffed up nose and I'm waiting for the ear infection to start.
Today, K2 went to school. He's been bouncing off the walls, terribly jealous of the extra attention K1 is getting, and he has no signs of illness. I fully expected the school to call and tell me he'd gone to seed but they did not.
Today, I'm running out of quiet/at home toddler entertainment options. We've already baked a cake, made halloween decorations, called both grandmas, played with play dough, decorated birthday invitations, read the entire High Five magazine and done all the activities suggested in the magazine, watched movies, played with all the quiet games . . . I'm exhausted!
Today, I have no idea what I'm making for dinner.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

Today, I'm still at home with a sick toddler. He slept a little better last night than he did before and he's got his pep back and he's eating again. But he's still hot and "grossy" and he sounds like Elmer Fudd.
Today, we painted a big picture of nothing, played with a sticker book, colored, cooked, built gigantic structures with megablocks and then destroyed them, and made plans for more halloween decorations.
Today, I showed K1 the invites for his birthday party. I printed them on a single sheet of yellow cardstock with a drawing of 3 monkeys jumping on the bed on one side and text on the other. He liked the picture and the text but he says that it should be a card that opens. Who knew that he'd have an opinion about something like that? Of course, he's also scolded me for not washing the juice out of his cup before filling it with water and he's a super PITA back-seat driver so I should have known to ask his opinion before printing the invites.
Today, I made a big salad for the first Friday/Shabbat potluck at our temple. I made it in lieu of a veggie tray since the Sisterhood president specifically told me not to make another veggie tray. *sigh* I don't really see the difference since I used the same dressing and veggies I would have used for a tray and the veggie tray always gets eaten while my greater efforts are often leftover. So, I chopped the veggies smaller and added leafy greens. I just hope the kiddos can handle dinner and services this time. Last week, K1 was actually running laps -- literally racing with his arms pumping - around the sanctuary while the Rabbi was trying to conduct services. (I promptly snatched him up and carried him kicking and screaming to the car. So embarassing!) I'm hoping that being still a little sick will slow him down but not so much so that he falls to pieces tonight.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

Today the kids and I had lunch with MIL, her middle sister, her mom, and several of her friends. It was lovely and meant so much to all of us to be able to get together and see her happy and not talk about her illness.Veronica

I suppose she just doesn't think a veggie tray demonstrates much effort. She'd rather I bake/cook something.
The kids didn't make it through services. K1 has woken up crying twice since he's gone to bed tonight and K2 is awake now, demanding water and books and such since he's seen me come to their room twice for K1.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.
