    This article yesterday really opened my eyes about the promise of a "free" publicly sponsored education:

    My nieces and nephew pay $125 - 150, plus sports fees in addition to having to buy special shoes or equipment for their specific sports. Their lunches cost $2/day per child. Add Senior photos, class trip, graduation fee, prom dresses, back to school supplies, college apps etc and I'm overwhelmed obo my BIL.

    I'm a little out of the loop on this because we're taking a different route than the local public school. Still, I'm wildly interested about what happens in your neck of the woods.
