I don't really watch The View, but I am intrigued by the latest gossip. I have to admit to being turned off by Star Jones, and I am glad she is leaving and being replaced. I am glad Rosie O'Donnell is coming on, and I am sad that Merideth Viera left. I really like Joy. Elizabeth Hasselback is way too right wing for me, but I understand that she provides a different viewpoint.

In any event, Star Jones just should have come clean and said that she had weight loss surgery. Does she think people are stupid? She seems so self-ritcheous and self-important to me.

I hope that they find someone good to replace her! What do you think, Brit needs something to do.

I don't watch it either and haven't heard much about Star Jones but have now read some about the weight loss. I also think it is weird that she hasn't been forthcoming about it -- especially since she wrote a book about it? Or part of a book?

The picture in the link you posted either is a bad picture or she is looking like she had some serious work done on her face too.

She looks like a deflated frog. It's unsettling.

I knew the show wouldn't be the same without Meredith, but I think Rosie is the WRONG choice. If you want to see the clips from today and yesterday they can be seen at:

        Today:

I watch the show when I'm home, not very often but I don't think I'll watch it at all with Rosie. I just don't think she's one to share the stage.

          That is exactly it!

A deflated frog that got a little crazy with the botox and a too tight pony tail.

I actually watch the show if I am home. Who do you think should replace Star?

I like Gayle King as a choice.

Bring on an Asian woman?! Or a Latina?

I....gasp....like Star Jones. Aside from how she looks, I find her quick, funny, and intelligent.

Hmmm....maybe I should do more than just look at pictures and read about Rosie O'Donnell's rants about her.

I guess Star Jones just doesn't particularly rub me the wrong way. But that's just my own opinion. I don't like Rosie O'Donnell much--nor her koosh ball slingshot, for that matter.

Now she is gone and I can't even watch her on the show!

I haven't heard what Rosie said, just read some bits -- I don't like listening to her much, either. But her comments about the weight loss and some others were intriguing. It's not that she had surgery, it's that it seems that she presented her weight loss plan in a different light and tried to motivate people to do the same. If that is the case -- that she had bariatric surgery and then must have had some plastic surgery as well -- it makes me think she is bit disingenuous.

I agree with you Nellie. I guess for me, the women I watch for entertainment (the VIEW women, for example) are nothing more than that: entertainment. I don't feel the need for them to explain things in their private lives to me. Just give me the gossip!

And what I read today was entertaining! Ditto for the Brittney cover. If it weren't for them, what other pressing issues of the day would there be to think about?

I'm not a fan of the View. I think their questions are so phony and kiss-butt-y. I used to enjoy the table portion at the beginning ... pretty much until Lisa Ling left. I liked Meridith Viera, but have never been a fan of Star. She was amusing occasionally ...but since the wedding fiasco and asking for "sponsors" ... she's gotten too big for her britches, while losing tons of weight and denying that she's had any surgical intervention. You cannot lose it that quickly (especially if you've struggled with it forever) w/o some kind of surgery.

I do like Rosie O'Donnell, but was really curious about how she was going to fit in a group dynamic. Star's departure makes it a bit more feasible, but she's really such a big personality ... it doesn't seem like a good match. That said, I'll probably be more prone to tune in once Rosie starts.

Star is losing it. She is now referring to herself in the 3rd person.
                            • The statement echoes what she told PEOPLE: "I thought the audience deserved to have their Star tell them what the deal is. To now be accused of betrayal by someone I looked at as a mentor, when I was finally speaking up for myself instead of letting the executives and tabloids speak for me, is disheartening.”

I knew daytime tv was a wasteland.
Well, except for the campy reruns.
