    I would say suit and tie because if it ends up MORE casual he can take of the jacket, remove the tie and/or roll up sleeves. I'm going off of the word swanky. To me, swanky means suits/dresses.

      Another option is to wear a darker shirt and forgo the tie. DH only wears ties to highly formal affairs (i.e. weddings).

        Yes, that's what I mean. A white shirt with no tie would look weird but a darker pattern (I don't mean black, btw) in a color that matches the suit would good without a tie.

          With men I always agree with the overdressing b/c they can always "down grade" if they're overdressed.
          Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.
