We're in the middle of writing a grant and are finding that some of our data is outdated-
1) Cost per day to detox a) methadone baby b)heroin baby c) polydrug-use baby or d) 'just' a preemie
2) Average length of stay for the above
3) Preference (?) or ease of care related to the above- i.e. although a methadone baby may be there longer are they easier to care for than a poly-drug use baby?
We are trying to get this bad-boy wrapped up ASAP so any input or any citations we could use to support our request (which is to expand services to mom prior to birth, increase intensive outpatient services- get mom clean and supported to reduce long term costs to society in terms of foster care, HIV infection, etc.) would be greatly appreciated!
