    I wouldn't feel bad about it either. It's dangerous and really close to neighbors. It's a hazard to your neighbors & you. Doesn't sound like they are able to fix it properly though.

      Since code enforcement is now involved, does that mean the owners will have to submit to an inspection and approval process? I would hope so, but have no idea how the process works.

        You shouldn't feel guilty...not only is it a safety hazard, from a purely economic standpoint they are reducing the value of the homes in the whole neighborhood...but especially yours as you're next door.

        Sorry but if they can't afford upkeep, it's time to take the hit and sell it.

        (Maybe I am insensitive...)

          You did the right thing, you just feel guilty because of how it affects the family. However you have to think of the people living near it, you and everyone else.
