You can also buy K-cups by the case at Sam's Club, which is where I get mine. I have the reusable K-cup, but use it less than I thought I would.

BTW, for any Portlanders or ex-pats, Coffee People make K-cups and they're widely available. You can even order directly from CP.

Are the cups recyclable? I find the waste to be disturbing.

I don't find the little cups any more wasteful than tossing the used filter and coffee grounds in the trash. I'd imagine you can rip the foil top off the cups, empty the grounds and then recycle the little remaining plastic cup.

I waste less by only having a cup or two than by making a whole pot that may or may not be consumed.

I have a reusable coffee filter, and you can use coffee grounds in gardening (or if you dump them in the trash, at least they biodegrade). I was just curious if the cups ARE recyclable. The foil would be, too. That's been my stumbling point over buying a Keurig.

Don't let that stop you. Get one of these to go with the Keurig: http://www.amazon.com/Solofill-Refil.../dp/B004CXG07S DH researched and bought one, and *loves* it..and no waste at all!

Ours came with one of the reusable K-cups and we use it for coffee that we like that isn't already made in the cups.

I would think the reusable one that comes with some of them would be good enough, but DH wasn't as happy with it as he is with the solofill one. *shrug*

In the kitchen - my Nespresso coffee machine, without which I'm a walking zombie. Otherwise - my macbook.

This would be mine! On days when DH is off, we will sometimes lay in bed contemplating what to do and interjecting, "but the bed is just sooooo comfortable". Best purchase ever!

I prefer Tassimo to Keurig...I think their non-coffee drinks taste better (I don't drink coffee).

But for me it's my nook or my iPad...
