      That's good to hear!

There are a lot of really good FM programs. Research will really help narrow down your list.

Since medicine is a small world, some peeps may not be comfortable posting personally identifying information here or to people they don't know well yet. It's not personal, at all. Just that some of us prefer not to "out" ourselves or our significant others until we REALLY know someone. And then, not in an open and publicly searchable forum.

Well without those 2 options open, I will say that I have heard the other one has really good lunches. That's about it though.

ok just kidding about that. (mostly) But you'll find when you start interviews that all of the programs have very different dynamics. It's all about finding where you fit in as a family and a doctor etc... DH's rank list ended up being much different than we originally thought it would be after externing with a few of the programs and seeing what it was actually like to work with the other residents.
Oh and as far as the house selling thing goes, we actually bought our house from one of our friends from med school who had to move away. We did it without a Realtor, which was probably risky, but everything turned out great and we love our house. So, if you end up moving away, definitely check with some of his med school friends who are staying in the area. Timing matches up that's for sure!
AND if he ended up at St. F, I know of a great house that will be for sale right down the street about the time he's done.

Man, wouldn't that be wonderful to just sell our house to another med student/resident? ahh... one can dream.

Congrats on picking a specialty! Like MomSchwab said, you don't have a ton of control during match, but to the extent you can rank programs higher based upon your desires, I'd say being close to family is key. We are only 3 hours away from family but we really really miss them/need them/wish we were near them. Either way, wherever the match takes you, you'll survive and be the better for it!
