  • DH just bought a car!

I guess he's coming home with a 2011 Honda CR-V with 19,000 miles. I think this will be our most expensive and lowest mileage car ever. I just hope it fits in the garage!

My mom has a 2002 and DH drives my old 1997. Both are still going strong. Good choice!

Yay, thanks for the vote of confidence. I sometimes suspect I'm more concerned about longevity and maintenance than DH is, so that was my only worry about sending him shopping alone, that he'd get swayed by bling and not pay attention to practical concerns. (The silly talked about getting a BMW for a while there!) I am getting excited about having AWD this winter in the mountains!

You'd have to have a pretty dinky garage for it not to fit!

It's actually kind of dinky. The doors are less than 8' wide and the bay that DH parks in requires a sharp turn. I've always had trouble backing the Camry out of it, so I'm glad he chose the CR-V over the Mazda CX-9. I'm sure it'll be fine!

We had neighbors in Boston that actually returned a car because once they got it home, they couldn't close the garage doors. The dealer swapped it for a smaller model for them.

                    Congratulations on the new wheels!

It is. We've had the money burning a hole in our pocket all year, but we keep finding excuses not to go shopping. Especially since the '93 Camry we traded in was running fine, not a single problem.

                          Congrats! Hondas are great!
We have a tiny garage and my Mazda CX-5 just barely fits in.

                          Have fun with the car!

That makes it worse. My car runs just fine and I love it but it's to too small.

Yea new cars!!! I feel your pain on car shopping, so I'm glad you guys bit the bullet and are over that misery.

I LOVE Hondas. Their longevity is incomparable. We've still got the same 2001 Civic DH has had since our 2nd year of undergrad. That thing has gotten us to mountain trailheads along roads that only 4WDs had business being on, drove us back and forth across Kansas about 20 times throughout med school, has been in more states than I have (DH drove to most of his residency interviews), and at 160k miles is still going strong. The only money we've ever had to put into it besides usual maintenance/tires is $700 for a new oil pan. I'm sure you'll be really happy with your new CR-V
