Can I just add that I woke up in the middle of the night with a killer tooth ache on my back molar...despite Tylenol, my jaw hurts. Can anyone say Thanksgiving root canal.

Kris, that brings back bad memories. Last summer I had the worst toothache ever for weeks (I was totally getting the runaround, as my dentist kept grinding down a filling thinking that was the problem). I finally basically insisted on a root canal on two back molars and while I'm not proud to say this, he was shocked at how infected they were and how deep the cavity had gotten. Sorry to hijack, but I feel your pain. I hope you get it fixed soon. The root canal wasn't any worse than a filling IMO and getting rid of the pain was totally worth it.

Well, this was a reminder to me to make a dentist appt...It's errr..been awhile since I've been. (phobia, I think!) But...It turns out that as far as I can figure out, it wasn't my tooth.

I was also having terrible shoulder and neck pain and I figured it all came from the tooth. I was feeling so miserable on Turkey day that I even was sick to my stomach because I was so uncomfortable. I tried heating pads a hot pack for my shoulder...everything...but nothing worked. Then, in the middle of the night, I woke up and the shoulder/jaw pain was gone...replaced by a feeling of a knife being stabbed around one of my lower cervical disks.

So...somehow, I managed to pull or stretch or irritate a disk or something...

I'm still going to get brave and call the dentist.....I should go in...in the meantime I've got ice packs on my back when I lay down. ugh.
