Hi...I just wanted to see how thing were going for Christy with the baby in the NICU...I found that to be such a stressful environment...sort of like I was stripped of motherhood while Alex was there...and I wanted to offer you any support that I could while Jonah is there.

How did I miss your post? Thanks for the support. The NICU experience is one I will never forget. At first, it was scary place to walk into. Then, I was comforted by watching the doctors and and nurses take care of him with such love. As Jonah progressed, the doctors were in awe of him. They started calling him a Miracle Baby and their Superstar. That was rewarding! I was happy and relieved that Jonah was doing so well. There was another little boy who also had a diaphragmatic hernia that was doing very well as Jonah. He had been there for like 35 days on an ECMO machine. One of his lungs was only 10% there. His kidneys were failing. His diaphragmatic hernia was much more severe than Jonah's. I pray for him every day. It's hard to rejoice in the NICU when other parents have to stay long term and do not have much hope in their hearts due to their child's condition. I truly praise God for his intervention. Jonah is truly a miracle. He has surgery scars to remind us where he's been, but also to remind us what an achiever he is already!!!!! We feel very blessed. Everyone was praying for this little guy. I did not hesitate to tell friends about his condition and get him on church prayer lists as well as prayer chains. Prayer does work. God is listening. I firmly believe in Him.
Got to go...
Jonah's up!!!!
