I know!!! When we got back from Disneyworld this year I actually went through a depression! We had had such a nice time as a couple and with the kids that I just had a really hard time forcing myself back into the stress of things!
So I started planning our next trip. We are flying to Germany in January to see Thomas' parents. We havent been in over 3 years and his dad is ill so we really feel like it is important to go....and when things get tough, I start thinking about what we will do while we are there...you know, a kind of mini-vacation in my head....
so where are you guys headed next?
I say forget Chicago...what about Jamaica

oh you forget that we are from AZ we have had enough sun to last us a life time. I am not quite sure where we are going next--we both hate to fly but we also need to head home sometime soon so who knows.
I was thinking a cruise but I know so little about them--you see all the great advertisements for cheap fares but I am always wondering in the back of my mind how great a deal it is and what you get for the money

British Airways has a good deal right now. My partner and I were thoroughly surprised when his parents presented us this past weekend with tickets to Madrid the week before Christmas! I am Sooooo psyched!!! But don't use priceline.com. We made that mistake and will NEVER do it again. And their customer service people are ABSOLUTELY rude!!! You may get to select your price and days you want to go, but not the times on those days. We had 3 days off and wanted to go to San Diego. I was hoping to leave ~9:00 Friday morning, and return ~6:00pm Sunday. Priceline.com selects the times...anywhere from 6:00am to 10pm. We left on Friday at 6:30pm and had the return flight at 8:30am Sunday!!!! When I tried to call customer service to see about chaning them, I was told basically there was absolutely no way they could possibly change it. So we basically flew to San Deigo for the day.
So there are good reasonable flights...you just have to look for them. A good way is to get emails from each service's fare watcher-type program. All the services like Expedia, Travelocity, Yahoo Travel have them.
I hope everyone is doing well. have a GREAT day!

If you have ever wanted to see places in Canada, you can vacation for a lot less than at US destinations. If you convert your money, $100US buys you almost $150CDN. Some examples:
- ski in Banff (near Calgary), Jasper (near Edmonton), or Whistler (near Vancouver)
- hike in the Rocky Mountains in the summer
- visit Toronto (see Phantom of the Opera while you're there), Montreal, Quebec City, or Vancouver
- canoe in Algonquin Park (Ontario) or the Quetico (Manitoba)
- see the coast of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, or Labrador
You can do so for really cheap! So many Americans are coming up here because you can stretch your vacation dollars. Flights are no more expensive than to US destinations. If anyone wants ideas, I'm happy to help.
