  • The Kindergarten Vote

I just thought that I would add in this little bit of voting humor. My Kindergartner was allowed to "vote" on Tuesday in his classroom. I asked him whom he had voted for and he told me Bush...so I asked him why..."what did you like about Mr. Bush that made you decide to vote for him?"

His response:"Oh, Mom, (exasperated sigh) I wanted to be number 14..not number 2 !"

Apparently as the votes were being counted in class there were 13 for Bush and 1 for Gore...and so he thought...14...2...I'll pick 14!!

My son is now obsessed with the fact that we don't "know" who won the vote...try explaining all of this nonsense to a 5 year old!!

I'm sure it makes absolutely NO sense to children, who are generally concerned with fairness and expedient processes. The legal in's and out's likely make no sense.

Do you think Americans are getting tired of this and just want the whole thing over and done with? Do you get the sense that many people don't care who's eventually declared the next president and just that someone is actually declared?
