  • Summer Vacation

Calling all moms! Any suggestions for surviving summer vacation, making it an enjoyable time for everyone and keeping your sanity?

OK...I have been thinking quite a bit about what I am going to do. I am planning on going to an educational store once we get moved and am going to buy workbooks, stickers, pens, etc for the kids. I am going to set up the day as if I were the teacher...don't laugh at me! I figure we could schedule our day better and learn at the same time. I am just going to set up a school day: math, science, english, recess (LOTS and LOTS of RECESS!), free play, art, music (we have a piano).....It will be fun, right? and educational...that's the key! Otherwise, I just don't know what we'll do!

    Any ideas?

Has anyone looked into summer camps in your area? There are a couple of 1,2,3,4-week...programs in our area that are relatively affordable. One is a gymnastics camp for kids of all ages for just a couple of hours a day...the other is a swimming camp that goes for 2 week sessions. That might be another idea....hmmmmm
