  • Mom, Dad.....I'm getting married.

We had our first neighborhood picnic this weekend, and it was a wonderful opp. to get to know the whole neighborhood. It has been unusually warm here, and the Minn. natives haven't been out much.

Andrew, my oldest at 6 3/4 as he so happily tells everyone...came up to Thomas and I while we were eating and announced that he had indeed found the woman of his dreams I asked him what her name was.."I don't know...it's her", he pointed to our nextdoor neighbor's ten-year old daughter. "She's going into grade 5!", he exclaimed.

He spent the entire evening following her, playing with her, talking with her...the two of them went on a scooter ride together...it was really one of the most moving things that I have literally seen! He has talked non-stop about his girlfriend, who we now all know is named Grace.....

It's so funny...one of the other little neighborhood boys that is Andrew's age is nicknamed "Romeo" ...and he went after Grace...and I just......the protective mommy instince was right there . "Romeo"s mom said..."looks like Andrew has some competition"...and I wanted to run over to Grace and say "pick my son!"

It was just such a fun, cute weekend, and I wanted to share that!

See, Jennifer and Crystal all of the fun things you have to look forward to!!!!

I just got back from Milwaukee visiting a good friend of mine- our husbands graduated med school together. Anyway, I met a friend of hers (Laura) that she attends church with. Laura has a 3 year old son who thinks he knows how to drive. Well Laura left the keys to their Suburban in the ignition and the Suburban wasn't quite parked all the way in the garage, and their son Clayton decided that he would "finish" the job for mom. He figured he saw his mom do it and therefore he had the knowledge to drive the car. Laura still does not know how he manage to get the car into gear as it is quite difficult. Clayton damaged her nice mountain bike and when her husband Scott got home later found out that Clayton had pushed the house frame in 3 inches.

To top all this off the previous day her 5 yr old son threw a rock through their living room window missing a tree that he had intended to throw it at. Both parents saw it coming and gave their 5 yr old "the look."

Aww the joys of parenthood, and here I am still "feeling" like I am going to be told I am having a boy tomorrow.

That is such a funny story (because it didn't happen to me, that is )

Your poor friend...I wonder what the damage will cost them? Yikes!!!

At least no one was hurt in either episode and the kids are free to take on other interesting tasks, like playing firefighter in the house using the hose attached to the kitchen sink

Crystal, I feel for your friend. It is amazing how much damage little children can do, especially so innocently!

May I just make a suggestion for all those with little boys. Avoid light sabers like the plague! I have superglued a small statue and a lamp and I have replanted my poor plant all in the past couple of weeks! It is sure a good thing I love my boys much better than stuff!

Your friend was lucky that no one got hurt. They can do such scary things at times.

I can't wait to hear how the ultrasound went. Enjoy!
