  • They're Gone!!!!

Well, we did it! I got up this morning at the bright, early time of 5.45am and made coffee for myself and chocolate and strawberry pancakes for the kids. They were so excited when I woke them up that they jumped out of bed and ran downstairs...they didn't even open up their cones full of surprises because they didn't want to "miss the bus"! They put on their new school clothes, got their bags....and after tons of photos we were off to the busstop....I gave Finny my favorite pin to wear from when I was a little girl: A miss piggy ballerina! For Andrew, I picked out a frog wearing a cowboy hat from my childhood collection to carry in his pocket. I wanted them each to have something from me in case they felt nervous or sad.....of course I was nearly bawling all over the place and Andrew thought I was being silly! (But he took the frog and hid it in his secret pocket in his new pants )

They practically ran away to get on the bus...I had to make them get out to get a picture next to the bus ...good thing they are the first kids on....They sat together and the bus took off.....leaving me standing there with Alex, choking back tears! The neighbors were getting out and about, so I had to walk the long way back to the house without breaking into sobs !

sigh.......Only two hours until Finny gets back from Kindergarten for lunch...Alex is asleep on the sofa...and I'm watching the tow truck chase in CA ....I guess I'll get the beds made and the house picked up

I wonder what they are doing right now...........
