  • The dangers of reading and walking...

I had the worst experience today!!! I was walking to the lab to start a digest and then run off to the dentist to get a crown...and the walk from the garage to the research building takes about 5 minutes...so I started reading my book ("genome")...and I...wasn't paying attention and I stepped in a HOLE!!

So instead of going into the lab and the dentist I spent the day in the ER...YUCK!!

My foot isn't broken, but it was such a miserable experience that I am still in a bad mood...I was there for 5 hours!! It took them 3 hours to send someone in to order an X-ray...another hour for the x-ray...another 1/2 hour for it to be read...and then I had to wait 30 mintues for discharge papers...and they insisted that I stay and sign them....at the end of the day it was just a piece of paper that said that I would elevate/ice my foot...geesh!!!

Well, I just thought that I would vent... :\

Oh yuk! What a horrible thing! But at least you didn't walk into a pole! Then you'd have a lump on your forehead for people to ask about... and then you'd have to explain. If mommy has a sore foot, what kind of mileage can you get out of that?

Sorry, just trying to make you giggle, Kris!

Better, but still sore...it is a bit weaker now and I seem to be twisting it alot. I should have listened to the doc and taken the crutches....but yah right!! Can you see me on crutches with 3 children? I think it will just take awhile longer to heal...thanks for asking!

You know, a couple of weeks ago, I WALKED INTO A DOORWAY! I had this huge, bruised, raised area on my forehead above my eye. Jon was so embarrassed - he didn't want people to think he was beating me or something when I told others I walked into a door! It was awful! I was dizzy and couldn't see straight for days. My mom finally convinced me to go to the doctor. My doctor looked at me and said, "You need an MRI. I am worried that you could have a bleed." And of course, the first thing I think of is my little boy and the stuff he has gone through because of a "bleed". I swear he and I must have eggshells for skulls! Well, I couldn't get an MRI because I am not insured and they run upwards of $2000. So, she let me go very worried that I was going to keel over the next morning. I couldn't drive (blurred vision) and I kept feeling like I was going to pass out! After a week, it all went away, so who knows what was really wrong with me! I still have a ridge above my eyebrow where I rammed my head!
