I was searching the internet in tears. OK, well I'm still in tears. I'm the wife of a fourth year med student. An on call med student, I was reading message board and could really relate to "venting". I'm much like a lot of you, I'm a full time undergrad collage student with a small child and a fulltime job. Between running to the hospital on my lunch hour and doing all the cooking and cleaing I have time to feel lonley and very frustrated. If any one has any tips or suggestion on how to handle being a "medical spouse" please e-mail me.

    Girlbuggggg@aol.com

    Thanks

Well, one thing is for sure, you're in good company here. We've all been through what you're going through and we've all had those "meltdowns". The best thing that helped me through my husband's med. school years and residency was to have friends who were going through the same thing. Just to have someone to say, "I know how you feel, I'm going through it too" helped me a lot. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate yourself and I'm sure that adds to the already stressful life of a medical wife. A fulltime job, fulltime college and a child--do you have on a superhero leotard under those clothes?

Well, it sounds like med. school for you guys is almost over. How is the search for a residency program going? Has your husband been interviewing? I'm interested to hear how things are going for you guys there. The move from med. school to residency can be a big change.

You will find support here if you decide to continue to post; and I hope you do. Just know that you're not alone. You can come here and have a shoulder to cry on.

Let us hear back from you soon!

                    lynn,

It's great to have you here! I hope you find the support you want! I was a fourth-year medical school wife this time last year, and I certainly remember those days of interviewing and "Match Day". I'll be thinking about you and look forward to hearing from you. I also sent you an email and when you get the chance you can email me. We'll talk soon! ~smiles~

lynn no worries--I believe alot of us have come to this board not TO cry but in the midst of CRYING. I think it is all part of the game and this board will most definetely help you--trust me I was in the same situation you were in--well almost--well not really but that is another story--all in all the important issue is that I was pretty upset when I found this board. Female, male, it doesn't matter--being the spouse of a medical student, intern, resident, can be pretty damned tough alot of the times. Thank god we have Lynn who is with someone who found sanity after all of this nonsense--she is a constant ray of hope for all of us in that fact that things do eventually get better.

I will also e-mail you at home--boy you are going to be loaded down with sympathetic e-mail

A very sincere Welcome to you
