          I think everyone here has said some pretty good stuff...I don't know what I can add other than to say that it is one thing to talk about experiencing this and quite another to go through it.....If you could just remember sometimes that your husband is struggling as much as you are with exhaustion and all of the responsibilities and occasionally acknowledge it somehow..........



          Also, I would suggest trying to arrange and stick to a date night throughout the process even if it means getting a babysitter...it is important to stay connected to one another.

            I think everyone here has said some pretty good stuff...I don't know what I can add other than to say that it is one thing to talk about experiencing this and quite another to go through it.....If you could just remember sometimes that your husband is struggling as much as you are with exhaustion and all of the responsibilities and occasionally acknowledge it somehow..........



            Also, I would suggest trying to arrange and stick to a date night throughout the process even if it means getting a babysitter...it is important to stay connected to one another.

                Thanks to all of you for the advice. I'm printing it out and keeping it. I want to make this as painless as possible for my family-- I'm willing to take time off or take longer to finish med school or residency if it makes them happier, so those are always options. I told my husband to be direct with me if I'm away so much and putting a really miserable burden on him with childcare & household stuff on top of his job. But we're going to try getting through without taking extra time during training-- we'd both like med school and residency to finish as quickly as possible. Grace
