Kristen- The exact thing happened to me. I spent about 15 hours the day before my thesis was due to the college so I could graduate trying to fix tables and pages numbers etc. I finally decided I didn't give a crap and turned in a thesis that had some grammatical errors and messed up spacing. No one will hopefully read it as it sits in the basement archives of my university's library. Someone on my committee said that she turned in her dissertation with typographical errors (unknowingly).

Also, I heard that most committee members don't read your entire thesis, just the results and implications section. Not really sure..... but I wouldn't be surprised if your thesis advisor didn't read the whole thing. I would find it kind of insulting though.

                Hope things get better.

Thanks, Jennifer...well, believe it or not, this actually has a silver lining. I came home, and after a long chat with Janet, I started fooling around with the photos I had saved to my hard drive. I had had a hard time printing them out from my computer here, which is why I had saved them to my disk drive. I played around until I found a print style that worked, and I actually like the way that they are printing out now better than before......how is that for turning lemons into lemonade.....I just have to keep repeating to myself...just two more weeks, just two more weeks...this is almost over!

                      Thanks for your support,

is it working now, kris? computers are both a great thing and an evil thing!

sorry - i had to laugh when you mentioned that your major professor hasn't

read your thesis. that is so typical. you wouldn't believe how many people in

my year were complaining about that very same problem! i was quite amazed.

and quite jealous! and here i get the advisor who has to read it ten times and

then some! don't worry about it, though - i've heard that these slackers will

sometimes raise a question that makes absolutely sense b/c they haven't read

it but the other members of your committee will correct them and stand up

for you. that is what i've heard. example from a friend of mine: one professor

said "why didn't you use this particular theory" and my friend freaked out and

another prof said "he did, look on page whatever" and just think, do they really

want to embarrass themselves like that?! no. you'll be so fine. don't you worry.

and always remember that they want to pass you. it doesn't look good for them

to have people who don't pass this. and it also makes them look like morons

that you got this far and didn't pass! i know, some of this sounds really

discouraging but i know how you feel when you are nervous - you need the

worst case scenarios! kris, you know this stuff like the back of your hand.

go in there and impress the heck out of them!!
