International clinical rotations

OK where the hell are all of the organizations that are supposed to have programs for residents to study abroad--I'll be damned if I can find any--We are looking for a program that will keep Daniel out of the country--Mexico that is--for 2 months--If I have to I will settle for one



does anyone have any contacts in this area--It would really be appreciated as I am sure it is going to cost a damn arm and a leg and we need to start saving now--thanks

Jason, We do have some experience with this, as Thomas had decided to do a month in Germany before we got pregnant with Alex....Here are some things to think about:



1. Does Daniels' residency program have a provision for allowing residents to do a month at another facility? (Very important, because if they don't...he can forget it)



2. Check with the American Osteopathic Association (Is that what it is called?). I am not sure which countries reciprocate with the DO degree. I don't agree with this policy, but I know that for instance a DO can not work in the UK or europe as a physician....Any other DO's out there who could lend a hand?



3. Choose a facility and write them a letter and set up a date. Most likely, you will continue to receive payment from your residency program while you are abroad.....that is how it would have worked for us......



I am really curious to find out what you discover.....

Praise the lord and pass the gravy we found about 6 programs that were exactly what dan was looking for



and we have about 13 months to save up for it--yahoo--the program and no more credit card spending

In exchange for his services the resort, meals, and spansih classes are covered



ie no money out of our pocket and a month in Cancun--can you believe that?
