You know, the hair thing IS really odd. All of my other kids had some amount of hair on their heads at birth - what would be considered quite a bit for a newborn. But this child takes the cake! I have very, very thick hair (my mom used to say I have enough hair on my head for three people ). Jon has a lot of hair and comes from a hispanic genetic background (re: VERY hairy people). So it is entirely possible that the whole thing is genetic. Although I've had at least one ob insist that it has to do with the position of the baby during pregnancy as well (something about how long the baby is engaged in the pelvis). Who knows? But, for all I know all of this thick, lustrous hair of hers will fall out next week and she'll be bald until she's two!

Jennifer- congratulations! I am a little bit after the fact because I have been out of town for a week due to a death in the family.

I am so excited that mom and baby are happy and healthy! What a wonderful delivery you must have had. Gotta love those epidurals. What I want to know is.... height, weight, and who does the baby resemble? Is she as cute as Maddie, Zoe and Alex?

Sophie's height was 20", her weight was 7 lbs and 5 oz (she only lost about four oz and is gaining 2 a day so far) and she most closely resembles - a cute little pink piglet.
