  • Germany: Top 10 List!!!

    10. Hefeweizen Beer

    9. Warm Gluehwein with orange slices on a cold night....mmmm think I will get myself a glass now come to think of it!

    8. Goethe, Schiller, Tieck.........

    7. Cobblestone streets

    6. Lots of neat swear words

    5. Snow for making snow angels, snowmen and having snowball fights

    4. No speed limit on the Autobahn in most places

    3. Spaetzle, Brotchen, Schnitzel: I will have to post the recipes...perhaps I will have to make a new "high-in-fat" recipe section

    2. Environmentally friendly packaging and consumer awareness

And...the number one on the Germany list: drum roll please.....

    1. The exchange rate for the dollar was at 2.10DM .... We shopped and shopped and shopped and shopped. I got 3 entire new outfits, a new pair of shoes, gloves, shawl, two baskets, baking pans, Guehwein (of course).....yippee

        Kristen,

I love the list, yet I have no idea what you are saying... It's all German to me!!! You definitely have to educate a backwoods girl like me! Again, I did enjoy it!

Spaetzle! You know how to make it? WOW, I've always wanted to learn! The Swiss Lemon Chicken recipe I posted is actually supposed to go on top of spaetzle, but I use egg noodles or rice...

Spaetzle!!! Is it tough to make?
