Kate!!! That is wonderful that you are going to your first choice and that you don't have to leave your job until you are ready! I am so glad that it worked out for you. Good luck with all your moving plans too. This is definitely a crazy time!

It definitely was a "high emotion" day here and I could hardly sit still thinking about the whole thing. We didn't go to the school's match party because it was at a bar and we really wanted to make the kids feel included. BUT ... Russ was on the phone a lot last night talking to his friends and finding out where everyone matched. It was great. We went out to dinner at TGI Friday's and there was a "balloon lady" there making practically any kind of animal or thing the kids wanted. Of course, three of my boys had her make balloon laser guns!!! The kids thought is was the best part of the day!

We are moving THIS year. So we have three months to get our house ready to sell, sell it, buy a new house and relocate. SIGH... the time factor is the only negative thing about all this. We had mixed emotions about staying here for another year and we think this actually works out better for us. My kids weren't quite as excited because they want to stay with their friends but I think this will be a good thing.

Jennifer - that "things to do list" is INCREDIBLE! You have me pumped up to go, forget the kids! I am going to copy your list and get my kids more excited. Thanks so much.

Janet - I have never been to Texas either so it will be an adventure. Actually, no one in my extended family has ever been to Texas so it is great hearing all the coments here.

Congratulations Kate! I am so excited for you! It makes such a difference when you match at a place that you don't mind living, doesn't it? I've only seen Providence on the NBC show, but it looks like a wonderful place to live!

Well... the Match is finally over! What a stressful day it was! The University of Florida actually does a really nice Match Day. It starts with a brunch and then at noon, they start calling out people's names... it's such an axious time for everyone, waiting for your name to be called! Then you walk up, get your envelope, open it and announce to everyone where you are going! It was fun to watch everyone's expressions! Most people liked where they are going... One girl burst into tears.... guess she didn't like her pick.

We got our top pick... UC-Davis at Sacramento! Yeah!!!! Of course, now we have to find a house to buy... that whole mortgage thing... and then MOVE (drive) all the way across the country to California (from Florida no less) with our 3 cats and one dog. Too hot to fly the animals.... Should be quite the adventure!

For mortgages... I've heard that Bank of America and Wachovia/First Union have special loans for our new interns. I would check them out.... in fact, we're going today to First Union. I've heard that First Union is ending theirs pretty soon.

It was interesting to see where everyone in the class matched... very few people from Florida ventured out West... in fact only 3 in Cali., a few in Texas, 1 in Co., 1 in Utah. Otherwise, it was all East Coast and Florida....

I hope everyone is happy with their new places to explore! I know we are.... <smile>
