I'd pick anesthesiology too...I'm currently a third year myself and have heard nothing but good things about the specialty from everybody else...as for myself, I'm going for ophthalmology...great mixture of primary eye care to surgery...and the hours aren't that bad either

Good luck medstudent. Opthalmology is a great field but pretty competitive. I wish you all the best. Thanks for your comments.

p.s. My husband has decided on anesthesiology (for sure) now and we are just waiting to see what happens. We are also frantically trying to get the last of the ERAS done and figure out where we want to go.

                      Robin-
That is awesome!!! If you need any more advice feel free to email us. If he needs a place to stay if he gets an interview here in Colorado, let us know, we'll work something out.

Thanks for all your support. It was a good experience for Russ to be gone for 2 months to really put life in perspective. He didn't like the idea of missing the kids lives for a minimum of 4 years (me too for that matter). He likes surgery but it isn't his life. Anesthesia should allow him to have both. Now is the fun part of trying to get in!!!

Thanks for the offer Crystal. We shall have to see what happens.
