What happened to my posts on this thread? I've noticed that a number of my posts on archived threads have 'disappeared' - and I know I haven't erased anything..... :|

Some of mine are gone too. Our entire website was down for a few weeks (felt like a few months), I think alot of my old posts are out there in cyberspace somewhere.

Don't take it personally, Rapunzel. I had to transfer over the database manually because it was so large and I didn't know how to do it via the shell access. When I got tired of copying and pasting, I skipped some. It took me 3 days and not every post was copied...this means not just you, but me and several others. If your posts had been deleted, there would be no message saying that there was 'no content'...it would just be gone. This means that In the database there is a number for this post, but the content of the post was not copied over.

Also, there were problems with new people logging on, old members having access to the private forums...and a plethora of smaller issues that are still being worked out.

No one is intentionally deleting anyone's threads. Not all of the reviews have been transferred over and none of the links have been transferred over. I just haven't had the time.

Jennifer, where the heck have ya been and what are you doing in the archives? Come back to the regular forums!

Luanne, it did feel like months! I never realized how much I needed this place until it was gone! Of course, for me it was gone for over a month since I was shaking my chains around on the ghost board.

Kris, you've done an awesome job with the transfer. I don't envy you the awful task. Hopefully, we won't see those hacker bastards again!

              Chris,

That hacker experience was definitely an all-time low! The most frustrating part was trying to get the new server set up. I wanted to stay with Ron but the host he was using banned us permanently because of that ridiculous lottery. This meant finding new software that is more secure, transferring everything manually (articles, reviews, etc) because the databases aren't the same, etc. Then I had to swich over from the forum software of the old to the new and there were coding problems that prevented people from logging on, etc.

I have had users email me that can't logon, that can't get a new password, that couldn't register...I didn't realize it, but for an entire month almost no one new could register. The list goes on and on.

In any case, if anyone is still having a problem, please don't be shy about bringing it up.
