With a new book out about corporate women being childless (Hewlett) and Oprah and Dr. Phil rising to the topic, there has been a lot of discussion about stay-at-home and working moms....I've been really interested in all of this...but recently, I read a letter in from the LA times that REALLY bothered me. The author was saying how important it is for the system to change and make it easier for working moms to also have a family life, etc....his reason? "the people that should be having children aren't". I felt like I'd been slapped across the face when I read that because it appears that this perception is still really out there.....that staying at home=not as intelligent....It just really bothered me...I needed to blow off some steam...
