  • Attention about being a SAHM...

With a new book out about corporate women being childless (Hewlett) and Oprah and Dr. Phil rising to the topic, there has been a lot of discussion about stay-at-home and working moms....I've been really interested in all of this...but recently, I read a letter in from the LA times that REALLY bothered me. The author was saying how important it is for the system to change and make it easier for working moms to also have a family life, etc....his reason? "the people that should be having children aren't". I felt like I'd been slapped across the face when I read that because it appears that this perception is still really out there.....that staying at home=not as intelligent....It just really bothered me...I needed to blow off some steam...

Consider the source, Kris -- a MAN living in L.A. -- hardly the real world, right? Let's just hope he doesn't reproduce.

I was watching the FOX news channel one day (have to admit that's a pretty rare occurance) and there was this guy on there that had a movement to have human beings "extinct" themselves by stopping reproduction. The guy lost ALL credibility when his interviewer asked him about his SIX children. Talk about hypocrasy! Basically this man thought everyone should stop having children but himself....
