You'll have to forgive me for arriving to this party late,
For you see I'm frantically preparing to move out of state,
I wish I could say this poem was worth the wait,
But even I know I wouldn't win that debate.
Your gift should be delivered in the next day or so,
On the receipt my name will show,
But in order to let the fun and suspense grow,
Please keep the box sealed as we continue to deal
Our secret posts to and fro.
That way it'll be so much more fun
Than to be one and done!
