  • What's growing in your sink?

Last night, DH found several sprouts growing in the sink. He noticed a little green peeking up out of the drain and pulled out a sprout that reminds me of the bean sprouts you see on Thai food.

The best thing I can figure out is that Bryn is the source. She is into doing craft projects with glue and seeds or beans and must have washed her hands in the sink with some of the seeds getting trapped in the drain dealie. I've been handing over old lentils and barley, happy to see it put to good use. I guess it's not too old to germinate. ????

It's the bathroom sink so it's one of those sorts of drains.

The sink is clean, I swear! Or at least they look clean. Maybe my earth-friendly cleansers just let the little guys keep going.

Sprouts? We had mushrooms growing between the bathroom sink and the wall! With heads and everything! And we're not dirty people eiither, with Putzherr living here and all.

Hey Nellie, screw the emergency kit, we could make a salad!

Yes! See, that was my plan all along. One could grow weary of canned food during an emergency and I will have a ready supply of greens. Emergency Pad Thai just isn't the same without some fresh bean sprouts.

Of course, that's just what I happened to be eating at the time I read this post. Now I'm eyeing my sprouts a little differently.
