  • The Electric Company

I bought a set of The Electric Company for the boys for Christmas. We just opened it last night and they LOVE it! I distinctly remember learning when I watched this program ... and I hope my boys do too. At least they're watching this and not trying to talk me into Cartoon Network (which I've banned).

Plus - the cast is AMAZING! Rita Moreno, Bill Cosby, Morgan Freeman, Irene Cara ...

    Loved The Electric Company.
BTW I have successfully done to the Cartoon Network what Sylvia was able to do to Barney. Whenever it comes on they say/shout "nooooo turn it off!" For awhile last year, they actually had some cute preschool programming on cartoon network called Tickle U. I would sit w/ them and monitor thier viewing of it...needless to say it was too tame for that network, they got rid of it.

Absolutely loved the Electric Company too. I was also just introduced to "Free to be you and me" and fell in love. How can someone not love the song When I grow up with Michael Jackson and Roberta Flack. It's just unfortuate that Michael didn't follow what he was preaching in the song:

I also loved The Electric Company.

My *only* Christmas request from DH was that I wanted the Sesame Street Old School dvds. I got them, and haven't had a chance to watch them yet. How sad is that? But I love seeing the same Sesame Street bits that were on when I was little. Does anyone remember the animated pinball machine with the song that counted to 12? (Singing it now......)

I am sure I would love the Electric Company dvd as well, but I have to watch the Sesame Street episodes first!

I sing that pinball number song to my kids, Sally. It was great during a diaper change. Just about long enough to keep their interest.

                LOVED the Electric Company!!!!

Anybody recognize Morgan Freeman -- WAY before he was a movie star (probably most known these days for the Shawshank Redemption ("Red"))?????

I love him. His character in Driving Miss Daisy just made me CRY!

                  I found it at Borders too. It's a set of 4 or 5 DVD's.

Does anyone not know / love Morgan Freeman? He's amazing. I love his voice.

I just heard the "silent E" song yesterday. Haven't heard the LY song yet, but we're working through the dvd's. I'm sure it's there.
