So, we had our first official birthday party at IW today. Holy Moly. I was in stimuli overload. If you've never seen one of these places, it's a giant cavernous space filled with moon bounces of all shapes and sizes.

They have the birthday party gig down pat though. Pizza, drinks, ice cream- and you provide the cake. They even cut the cake and distribute it! Dude was WAY overwhelmed upon arrival (as was I) but eventually he got into it. His bestest pal (a girl) is the younger sibling of the Birthday Boy. Nikolai is in the BB's class but Ariyah is his buddy. Once he found her, he grabbed her by the hand and off they went.

    Whew. Wore us both out.

PS- this has been filed away for during Fiesta if we have a rainy day with my nephew in tow.

There's a place like that here called Pump It Up. We haven't been yet, but I keep meaning to go on a rainy day.

I just booked Jacob's party at Dave's Athletic Club. They have an raquetball court where they've built a giant treehouse w/ a silde, and they offer several different themed parties. They charge $145 for 10 kids, and provide cupcakes, drinks, plates, games (that they run), and a craft (which the kids take home so I'm not buying goody bags). I'm excited to have it all out of my hands. Of course I'm still baking a cake for his actual birthday and we'll just have some neighbors over.

We have Pump It Up here. The kids love it. Something about the combination of the lighting and loud music or something gives me a migraine. On a really rainy day with really wound up kids, it is a fair trade.

I love the birthday parties where you don't have to clean up!
