Both my girls have two teachers, and their last day of the school year is Thursday. Any nice gift ideas that wont be too much, since I have to get four of them? Do most parents give gifts to the teachers?

I like the plant idea. Or have her draw a picture. This year other moms in the kid's classes are taking up a collection of $10/each and getting a spa or mall gift card. However, with 4 teachers that would add up and since the last day is Thursday, I like the pot idea.

One of my favorite gifts was a hand written note by a parent on HOW I postively impacted their child -- and an enclosed 5 dollar GC for a cup of coffee. One parent found out from their daughter (I taught HS) what "my drink of choice" was and gave me that exact amount in a GC from Starbucks. It was like $3.25 or something like that. It made me smile.
I liked it because it was personal, took some time, was inexpensive, and let's face it --- having coffee out is expensive for teachers!
Just my two cents. Hand written notes from parents are keepers. I saved all of mine.Flynn

Stay away from bath items (lotions, soaps, etc). My mom is a preschool teacher, and every year after Christmas and end of school, I go and pick out what I want from the many, many lotions and soaps she has received. It's a great gift if only one person were to give it, but it seems to be very popular amongst parents. Also, people are big on apple ornaments, paperweights, statues, etc (at least for that age group). Try to stay away from the apple items. I agree with the personal note and potted plant or gift card for a small sum.-Deb

If you go with the potted plant idea, maybe go to one of those pottery places. It would be a fun outing for the kids and they could do a vase, potter, mug, etc.
