    Appropriate for 7 year olds?

DD saw a HS Musical party pack on one of those birthday catalogs and that is what she would like to do for her birthday. I thought she could have a friend or two sleepover and watch the movie. It is rated G so I figure it must be ok but the HS part threw me.

    Yea or nay?

My 7 year old loved it. (She's eight now.) It has dating/love issues and some kisses. Is that a problem? There is lots of music and a comic presentation of cliques and the troubles they cause. Sort of Romeo and Juliet in a Disney High School.

I'd go for it, unless you are vastly against your seven year old thinking about boys and dating yet. My daughter seems to be moving in to crush territory. Maybe I should blame HSM.

Oh yeah, I think totally appropriate. Lots of dancing and fun songs.....what's not to love? And a message about doing your own thing, no matter what it is, even if it doesn't fit in with what the "cool" kids are doing. My boys loved it. (They would kill me for telling anyone that!)

Thanks for the feedback! I added it to my Netflix list.

I'm ok with the boy and dating stuff. She hears enough about that and is disinterested and says she will bypass boys and husbands and adopt children.
