  • the mailman

is a good man. actually there are two of them that are regulars here. my kids love them. they (the mail carriers) have told me that my kids make their day. well, they make my kids day.

everyday the mailman brings dog cookies. he gives them to my kids and that makes for happy kids and dogs.

apparently ds has a thing for green dog cookies, he specifically asks for green when the mailman comes.

today, he came....kids and dogs flock to him...he hands out the mail and bones. ds is SUPER excited because he got a green one. on the way out of the driveway the mailman shouts, "he wanted a green one yesterday and i didnt have one..so today i made sure i did!!"

im so that my kid is asking for a certain color.

i dont know many people that would embrace three running kids and two stampeeding dogs coming at them for the purpose of dog cookies.

I would, I would! You have the most adorable kids and the dogs are right up there too.

P.S.: I usually fawn over dogs so that's a huge compliment from me.

that's a sweet mailman. maybe you could bake some bread, or write a letter to his supervisor, or both.

don't be embarrassed that your kids are asking for certain colors - they all do that. just do the normal mommy-talk (you know, teaching moments).

ITA! A letter to his supervisor on his behalf would be very nice, and you never know, it might help to garner him a raise or promotion. I also think you could bake something to return the favor and say thank you.

Your kids are so cute! I would want to bring a green dog biscuit too! That is really sweet. I'm sure they brighten his day.

aww..thanks. i just called the local office and spoke with their supervisor. i told him how much we (the kids and dogs ) LOVE the mailmen.

he thought that was wonderful....and said i could write a letter too and he would pass on a copy to both guys.

he also said people never hesitate to complain...but hardly ever compliment.

oh, one other time..ds drew some pics and wrote his name on some computer paper and put it in the mailbox. (not sure why...i think he was sending them to daddy) anyhow, the mailman wrote, "very good" and put a smiley face on them. ds was tickled.
