sit and stand strollers

SueC has the joovy, and my Alaska friend also bought one. Both are quite happy with it.

What age do you think a child is old enough to handle the sit and stand style? I have a couple of friends who got them and their older child couldn't really handle that kind - they both ended up getting a second, more traditional double. I'm due with my second in Dec, and my first will be 25 months. I'm trying to decide what we should get.

I was thinking that what Tara mentioned -- two in the stroller and babe in a carrier -- would be the way to go.

Well, Lucy is older and sounds like she's not so into the stroller. Maybe it's time for the Leapster or something of the like? She could have a stroller toy/game, something special she gets to do only while in the stroller.

For two older ones and a babe I'd pick a manueverable double jogger and front/back pack, FWIW. Have not BTDT yet though so it's only worth ~ :02:

ITA with Tara.

Because of the age spread between #1 & #2, we got a double stroller. I could see my oldest jumping off as we were going somewhere.

Between #2 and #3 there are 2 1/2 years. During some outings we used the tandem stroller, and #3 rode around in a sling. Now that he is 19 almost 20 months, and I am pregnant with #4, he spents a lot of time in a single stroller while the two older ones walk (they are 5 1/2 and almost 4 yrs old). As #4 gets older I will probably break out the double stroller.
