what do I do?? this kid has been the most freakishly regular child ever - I really have no experience with constipation.

mineral oil in juice. do it when you can be home...leakage in the undies can happen. try a teaspoon.

Ai-Lan had this problem and still has it from time to time. Ditto what others have said. Our ped recommended the mineral oil but we have never used it. She suggested pears first (juice or sauce). We always have both on hand. I buy baby pear sauce, it always does the trick.

Our oldest DD had this issue when she was younger. Thankfully, she loves raisins and prunes. (Yeah, I know..weird kid.) So we'd just give her some and things would be moving along nicely in short order.

Maybe this will help. Also have a regular kid, and I'd be darned if my sister-in-law who was visiting a couple of days ago didn't feed him prunes. The foulest things have been coming out of him since, and about three times a day. They even made a comment at day care about how bad it's been. The prunes are the only thing I can think of that did it. So try prunes.
