Heidi it sounds like you're just goofing off. DS's grandma just taught him what hogwash means so they have all kinds of fun making up hogwash.

    "Grandma my skin is green!"

    "Oh, DS that's hogwash!"

I use teasing all the time to pull DS out of a bad mood. For instance one day he bumped his head and really was crying hard about it, but after a while his crying turned into self sympathy so I told him, "DS your head is turning orange are you ok?" He stopped crying and was worried now he was orange, then got it I was teasing. We do this all the time now.

Teasing is great, my son has a great sense of humor and we noticed this since he was two. He'd point to a picture in a book, like a car, then say dog. I'd say no, it's a car knowing that he knew that. Then he turned to me with a twinkle in his eye and said dog. LOL I knew it was all over for me at that point. I come from a family where teasing and pranks is just expected. You had to let it roll off your back, but they never got nasty about it.

I on the other hand had a wicked wick from the west as a step-mom and her teasing was down right cruel and done in front of friends to humiliate me. I always knew the difference between my dad's teasing and her's - always. One hurt and made me feel stupid and small, one did not and gave me a laugh.

My dad liked to make up stories all the time and sometimes wouldn't tell me it wasn't true until later, when I told someone else That sometimes would upset me, but for the most part I'd just think of a way to get him back

    Laughter keeps us all young!
