  • First Day Jitters

This was yesterday. Brennan had a 1/2 day and Garrison had orientation. They both have full days today. Brennan (4th) walked in like a pro. Garrison (5th) is the one I'm worried about...He is not usually THIS nervous. He was so nervous, he made me nervous. Now I'm still nervous waiting til 3:00 to go pick him up. I know it's a new school in a new state, but he's usually more self-assured. I hoping for smiles when I get there at dismissal...

        Thanks for the kind words...

I've been burning my nervous energy cleaning the house while listening to Barry Manilow and Barbra Streisand.

I'm so depressed - DD had her first day at 1st today. They didn't have her on the roster - computer glitch, so all the other kids had desks but not her. Tough beginning.
DS is now saying he wants to stay home with the baby - he's supposed to start on Tuesday.

That stinks, Fluff. for both kids!

Thanks, everyone. I'm a proud mama.

Fluff - I'm sure your DD was disappointed. Maybe she's forgotten all about it now, and maybe your DS will get school fever when he hears from his sister about all the fun things they do at school. That's what happened with my 3 yo.

Luanne - congrats to your daughter, that's great!

Fluff - that stinks, hopefully they were able to get it fixed quickly so she didn't feel like an outsider. I'm sure she won't want to come home.

Thanks everybody, and sorry for hijacking Heidi.
I hope she's enthusiastic when we pick her up, and that will rub off on the boy. If she's sobbing on the way home, it will be the death knell for his school year.
September ends up being the only time I seriously consider homeschooling.

DS got moved into his new classroom at school this week. There are THREE "Sam"s in his class!!

I had no idea it was a common name. But they are so cute: these little thre year-olds call each other by their complete full names!

And Heidi...such a handsome family. Wow!
