It's too bad that none of you live in Cleveland. We could do a babysitting swap...I'll take your kids to Chuck E. Cheese and you can come use my computer to get on iMSN while my kids sleep so DH and I could go on our yearly date.

We don't mind Chuck-E-Cheeses. Just must be avoided on weekends at all costs. We actually have a bunch of leftover tokens from last weekend!

But, if I had to go more than 2 times per year, I'd definitely by totally anti-ChuckE.

(Our chuck e cheese is by a panera so the kids and dad can eat the pizza and I can get a salad- a nice thought that has only worked out 1 time, but anyway, a girl can dream...)

Yet another benefit to downtown living? There are no Chuck E. Cheese's.
Bars- check. Brewery- check. Every restaurant we have in the 'hood- check. He doesn't know what he doesn't know.

(and luckily, MOST of the kids at the crunchy school are also downtown kids!)

Oh...you party pooooper. Sometimes you just have to unwind and let those jokes rip. :>
no I don't. I'll be silly and goofy, but it doesn't have to entail poop or farts. I have no patience for it. None. I don't judge anyone who will play along with their kids (you guys are more fun that I am). I just won't go there.

I didn't really take you seriously. I was just explaining my insistance on stodgyness.

I think this thread somehow jinxed me! I hadn't even thought about Chuck E Cheese in like three years, then I read this thread, then I get this e-mail

Are you guys available Sunday night or Monday night for Alex’s birthday at Chuckie Cheeze in Vernon Hills? 6:30?

Good thing that nephew of mine is such a nice kid! I think there may be something about grandparenthood that makes this place tolerable again? (Latent hearing loss, perhaps? )

If anyone is in the Vernon Hills Chuck E Cheese on Sunday and you see a hugely pregnant woman who looks like she has heartburn, come say hi!
