  • Chore Wars...

Don't know if y'all already know about this, but I ran across it yesterday, and thought I'd pass it on. Looks very well done, if your household's set up in such a way to take advantage of it (ie everyone old enough to do chores has access to a computer and would log in to track what chores they've done in order to earn "gold" and "experience points") I'm tempted to set it up for DH and I, but I'm sure I couldn't get him to keep checking it, and I already have a to-do list for myself. :P

Here's an explanation of how it works:

Let me know when you run across the version of "Chore Wars", where the characters look like cute, furry, little wonder pets and I'll show it to my little ones !!

This is great...we've been using it for a little while and it isn't just a motivator for the kids.....the battles aren't really battles (more like text wars) but the kids still get into it. I just love wracking up the points! :>

        Re: Chore Wars...

I am SO glad you posted about this. We set it up- and the kids love it. We haven't used it much yet, because I just did the whole setup yesterday, but Izzy right away was so jazzed to do her chores to get points added to her character.

Isabel called herself "RunZillia" and Steven called himself "Lex".

I love my kids-- they are so funny!

        Kate called herself, emoliciousgothgrl, .

Now I have this big "prize system" to go along with earning all the points, and Kate will hopefully go back to doing chores because the prizes for her are big. (Big to her, just normal to me-- like $50 for shopping for clothes, where I get veto power)- so stuff that I would spend anyway, but I think would motivate her more.

We shall see how it goes- but nonetheless I've had a good time with it!

ITA about the gross faces though. Kate wanted the character with blood dripping down its chin... I got her to go with the green-eyed girl instead...
