I called the ped this AM about DD2's cough. She has had a cold/cough for a few days now and it doesn't seem to be getting better. It sure doesn't help that we can't give cold/cough meds anymore (despite the "research," those meds did seem to help out our kids!) They are going to see her this afternoon and the nurse mentioned that they are probably going to do a chest x-ray. Is this normal?? The word x-ray freaks me out. I can hear the "stuff" if I put my head to her back.

I hope she doesn't have anything serious. I would feel like a real *&@% for waiting a few days to take her to the ped. DH is unreachable. He is off doing weapons training for his upcoming "trip."

poor little thing ...I can sooooo relate
Oh please don't worry too much, I know I know easier said then done!Chest x-ray is nothing to be afraid of; my 3 older kids(they were 4, 3 & 1 at the time) have all had one this year. DD2 was the more recent one, she had a recurring high fever w/ her hacking cough, so DH suspected pneumonia and was right... a week on Augmintin and she was better!
BTW DH has told me that you will more than likely hear rattling in there chests when you put your ear up to them and listen...that's why he checks w/ his stethoscope(after I sterilize it) to just make sure the lungs are clear and that the sound is only from an upper respiratory /airways.

I hope her lungs sounds clear and she doesn't need to be x-rayed.
